What a great trip, I had so much fun I am totally hooked on Hammocks, It was great meeting every one and just hanging out. The food and conversation was great, the temps were low and the snow was pretty. My only complaint about the weekend was that I learned and got to see all this new great gear that I want and cant afford .
My burrow and winter ptarmigan kept me nice and toasty when I was using it right (it took a bit to figure out, it was my first time using a UQ/TQ combo in a hammock and actually first time sleeping in a hammock over night EVER, I had only layed in my WBBB for 2hrs prior to Friday night). That ptarmigan is stuffed to the brim with down and the Burrow has so much loft it felt like I was swiming in a sea of feathers. I did have some cold spots but will attribute them to user error, not having a sufficient ccf pad for my legs, and being it was my first and second time sleeping with them and had not time to test them out. MY BWWD in black looked super stealthy (except for in the snow) and kept me nice and dry. The stitching is superb and the side pull outs are really nicely reinforced as well as all the pull out. That thing is HUGE. It pitched nicely (even though on Friday I set it up for the first time in the dark but re-strung it the next day). I got pic's of the BWWD but none of the quilts (they just dident turn out nicely).
I really want to thank all you guys that came out and showed off their gear and helped me with the learning curve on a tough, first EVER over night hang!!! I cant wait for the Spring MAHA, Ill have to plan an over night trip before then I dont think I can go that long without sleeping in my BB. Im off to dry out and pack away the gear, cant wait to see you all on the trail or in the trees some time soon.

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
Agreed. A great trip it was. It was nice to put faces with the names. Never laughed so hard like that in quite some time.
The food was top notch!! Especially the pork loin and the venison....best I ever had, even in 18 degree weather!!
Appreciate the hard work in planning, cooking and getting this hang to be as fun as it was. I also appreciate the expertise on gear and hanging.
Can't wait til the next one.

I'd be scared to bring any stringed instrument I loved into these kinda temps but it's up to you of course...
Hey LRR, "mad props" for having the courage to go out in such cold with untested gear. I always test the heck out of my stuff in my backyard (so I can go inside). Good on ya!

For certain, you have to be lost to find a place as can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.
