Welcome! I've been away from hammockforums.net for almost a year, but recently got back to hiking and backpacking in Western NY with my hammocks.

Welcome neighbor. Sonyea SF is a great place. Havent been there in many years though.

what is sonyea? nevermind - just saw SF after it.
The NYS forest are great places for hanging. You can camp anywhere that is 150 feet from a road, trail or water source, and many of the state forest have unimproved designated roadside campsites off the forest roads for those who want to keep their cars close to them.
