Thanks, Grapenut. Was a fun project, and took me about 2 hours to measure, cut, and sew it. Will be a nice summer TQ to add to my bevy. LOL

I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.
When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

I was actually thinking about taking my woobies and making a top quilt and under quilt to use in warmer weather and to practice making a TQ and UQ. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nice work. I have considered making a TQ out of my poncho liner, maybe that will be added to my DIY short list.
Mine is not a work of art as I 'Hillbillied it up", but I made mine this way:
1. Added some grommets to grossgrain ribbon (about a 2 inch long piece).
2. Punched 4 holes (2 at the top and two at the bottom).
3. Sewed the 2" long ribbons at these openings. Ran the shock cord across the top and bottom out these openings. These allow me to cinch the bottom to make the footbox and to cinch it around my neck.
4. Sewed velcro about 30" up the side. This lets me open and use as a blanket and also extend the footbox up like a topquilt.
It works really well. It's a little wide since I didn't cut it down, but I also can use it (in theory as I haven't tried) as an early spring pod to supplement my 3/4 partial 20 underquilt.
Just banged out two of these and they both came in at just over 13 ounces each. I was able to make them lighter by reducing the length and using zing it and a mini cord lock for the end closure.
Thanks again for the inspiration BackpackerGuy.

I use a poncho liner for a TQ all through the summer but never actually modified them. I normally fold it in half and kind of bundle up the end, using the corner ties to hold it in place if I need foot-box. I have a pair of the Snugpak Jungle Quilts on order to make some lightweight UQs. One of these might miss that mod and turn into a dedicated warm-weather TQ instead. Thanks for the writeup.
Here you go...I made one for my buddy Jaxx and it is a half-ounce lighter than mine (I am 4 inches taller than Mr H2O). His quilt is in the scale pic. Thanks again. G-Nut
