I had 2 CF tarps and sold them both.

I ignore it and don't have any issue getting privacy. They aren't that transparent. One of mine is camo and is not as transparent (duh). Exciting response, I know, but for me there is no downside to cuben. If you are looking for an area you can cut a lot of weight with one move, transitioning from SilNylon to cuben is an easy (albeit expensive) move.

If I could ask, why did you sell them?

The Hammock Gear Camo Version is less translucent.

I got a cuben tarp and fell in love with it. No stretch, no misting through, very light weight, compact, easy to towel off before packing that extra weight of rain, and the list goes on. I have a super fly, a vertex and the HG cuben, and my next tarp will likely be another cuben, all up side for me.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Just ordered a CF tarp, this thread is very comforting. I couldn't buy into CF until I saw it in person. Now I must endure the horrible HG wait times.

I got a HG standard with doors from a forum member. I love it. I changed from a continuous ridge line to a fly set up so I can get my hammock nice and tight against the tarp. When the money allows I will sell this one and get the camo version.

I love my CF tarp and wouldn't part with it. Saying that I also have a Silnylon SF for winter when weight isn't a concern.

So did i, for me i thought it a waaste of money, we basically only car camp and the weight savings wasn't worth the extra cash to me, plus all i did was worry something heavy would fall thru it and i would be out all that money, that was not relaxing for me.
