Yea I gotta get a name for that knot! I can't really tell how you're tying it. Would you be able to make a video?

I have no clue what the name is. I was just messing around with the slippery sheetbend and that came out of it. It's basically the slippery sheetbend with a turn around the continuous loop before you put the bight through. I'll try and get a video up later today.
Make sure you all are being careful. I had Dynaglide snap and send me to the ground leaving me with quite a bruised rear end a year or two ago tying hitches in it.
I had a continuous loop of 7/64 Amsteel on my hammock and ran the Dynaglide suspension through the continuous loop and tied the Ray Mears "knot" he demonstrates at the 2:00 mark of the below video. The turn radius was too small for the Dynaglide and it snapped. It worked well with 7/64 Amsteel as the suspension though for quite some time before which gave me reason to try it with Dynaglide (it works great with webbing too as demonstrated in the video just not Dynaglide).
Here ya go. If you try the knot out let us know how it works for you.
I had high hopes for the knot but when i tested it loading the hammok today it slipped. I was actually able to pull the hammok and get it to invert without even putting my weight in. Maybe I tied it wrong. I noticed it was tricky to keep the top wrap on the knot and not hanging off the CL. ill try it some more. Maybe lighter people will have more success.
That ray mears knot looks like its essentially the same thing we were doing using the leftover tail to jam the bite only tied differently. Ill give it a go but I'm guessing its harder to untie after laying in the hammock than his demonstration.
I tried the one way sheet bend more today and boy it was a bear getting undone today. Probably going to go back to the drawing board on this one yet again.
I tied it last night based on your photos and got it down fairly quickly. Didn't look at the photos again when I tied it today so I could have remembered it wrong. I tied it again today after I was at work on a couple scraps of line and I'm thinking I may have only done a half wrap if that makes sense. I haven't given up on it yet so ill let you know.
Sort of looks like a double sheet bend, but not exactly.
Tried it again today and it does hold. Still getting some stretching of Amsteel fibers and bunching up of the braid like i get with the aluminum toggle method. Time will tell if this is a long term issue or not though.
Good work ksbrocks!
