    Blackbird Bird XLC

Happy fathers day to me! I just ordered my father's day present! A new BB XLC! I got the DL 1.7. Can't wait to get it and try it out.

Grats! The double layer seems to be a popular choice. I guess a lot of folks coming from the ground have a pad they think they want to use.

For a first hammock, I think you've made a good decision. I've really enjoyed mine. The extra weight for a DL isn't that significant when you consider the flexibility you'll have learning the hammock craft.

When I ordered mine last fall, I wasn't sure how to manage cold weather hanging and used the DL to experiment with pads and combinations of an underquilt and other bottom insulation options that could be used with a DL.

There are a lot of good hammocks out there, each fitting different people's needs but I've been pleased with my top side WBBB XLC as well. Let me learn a lot about hanging in summer, fall and winter conditions using mosquito and top covers. Hope you'll feel the same.

I have the xlc DL multicam. The multicam is 1.9 and the layer is 1.1. I love it. But one of these days I want a sl to cut some weight. I splurged on a HG incubator and will never use a pad again.

Or need the bug protection when it's too warm for insulation...

Blackbird is here! Great looking piece of equipment! High quality work, Brandon! Came in yesterday, less than 2 weks after ordering. Set it up a couple times between a few different trees in the yard. Very easy set up with the webbing straps. Very comfortable! Laying in just relaxing, next thing I know, it's almost dark and I am asleep! Can't wait to get out and camp with it!
