Exiting a hammock hung to high

My answer to this would be not to hang the hammock so high, but it occurs to me that I some point I may have to. Usually when I hang my hammock I am swinging about 6-12 inches off the ground. To get out it is no problem to just put my feet on the ground and stand up. The other day however, when I was playing around, I hung the hammock up higher. I was only a couple feet of the ground, but I could no longer plant my feet and easily stand. My toes just touched and my rear end was sunk down low. I started to press down with my hand in the center of the hammock to raise my rear end, but got this picture in my head of my hand tearing through the hammock. Either way I found it uncomfortable to get out. So does anyone have a good trick for this? If so please share.

I like to hang just where my feet can just touch the ground. But if you push down on the edge of the hammock pushing it under your legs you can get out easily

Chair height is the norm, which is a good bit above 6-12". Its whatever works for you. You should be able to sit and spin to get in, and essentially do the same getting out - throw your legs over and spin yourself up. If that doesn't work, you should be able to push off with your toes so that you push the hammock back, eventually giving you some near vertical structure from which to push your torso off from.

That makes sense, I was just scared to try it because it is hanging from my turtle dog stand right now, and tipping that over would be no better .

I am just in bad shape right now. I was trying to push with just one arm because I injured my right shoulder. Maybe with a second good arm it would not have been so difficult.

That's the answer. Tippy toe yourself backwards until your feet are centered under you better then just stand up. Shouldn't even have to use your hands. I've got a left wrist crooked as a dog's hind leg, and can't push off with it either.

I usually hang high, and I do what others have said. Push myself off with my toes, then stand up. It's kinda fun, it's like a swing.
    I'd rather be hanging.
