thanks for the sale, been loving my gear box on backpack camping trips.
Either option is fine. The beauty of it is that it's silpoly so waterproof and if set up properly you don't have to worry about the dew or rain or other issues. I got mine so my son and I can store packs in it at night, between our hang sites, but not under our tarps. Really liking the versatility and convenience it gives us with a minimal weight penalty.

You can hang 'em under yer hammock, draggin' the ground... won't hurt a thing or get the contents wet or dirty.
You can hang 'em alongside yer hammock... all is accessible while you are in yer hammock.
You can hang 'em outside the tarp, or half out of the tarp... put a rock in the pocket, and make sure the ends of the cover are stretched out.
The Gear Box does real well in falling snow or rain.

I received my Gearbox. Looks great, and can't wait to try it out.
Really a slick piece of kit.
I can tell that for me, it could use longer lines though.
Still on sale... might just continue this sale too, and call it a Spring Gear Box Sale!
