[UPDATE PICS!] Tandem hang spreader bar pockets!

This is an update to my previous post about creating pole pockets for a tandem hang. These pole pockets allow you to hang two hammocks side by side between two trees using their individual suspension. The pictures should explain most all that was involved to make them. The pockets are made from 6" of 2" webbing and the pole is a 36" aluminum pole from Home Depot. The pole has rounded plastic caps on each end to prevent wear on the pockets. I am at the lake for this holiday weekend so I had my girlfriend and my dad model for me haha. Hope this helps someone!

That looks great, you could even modify that for just about any type of suspention one might have.
    Nice work, thanks for sharing.

Very cool set up. Might even be able to convince my little one or my bride to go with me using something like this.

Nice mod. Two questions. Are the spreader bars light enough to hike with? If not is there a good alternative? And on your hammock end, is there any knot in that continuous loop or is it just passed through itself? Was trying to decide what you had done. Thanks.

I believe this spreader bar is definitely light enough to hike with. I can get it on the scale soon and let you know. I am in the process of making a way I can cut the bar in half and sleeve it together when I need to use it for packing purposes as well. And on the gray hammock it is just a 10" continuous loop larks headed through the hammock channel and the orange hammock is just a standard whoopie sling with the fixed eye larks headed around the hammock channel. The pole pockets just slide over the amsteel down to where the gathered end is.
