I like this simple method because the material used to make it is readily available for most people and this would work with webbing suspension. The only other option available now, I believe, is whoopie sling-based. Nice work.
Yea I was trying to think of a low cost way to do it without having to buy Dutch's double Whoopie hooks. Which are an excellent solution to this, but then I would have to order poles from quest outfitters and the next thing you know you're up to over $30 for the setup. The aluminum pole o purchased was around $10 from Home Depot and I just fitted some spare tops to small bottles I had onto the ends to prevent wear. It works very well for my needs. Thanks!
This are the caps I had laying around from small bottles. They are a nice tight fit for each end of the pole and they create no wear on the pockets.
Where in Home Depot did you find the Al pole? What is its diameter and length?
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.

It's in the hardware aisle with fasteners and other small things.
Used two sets of these on a family trip last week. Wife and I bunked up and my two oldest boys bunked up as well.
These worked beautifully. I really liked how they could you be used with any suspension set-up. They are particularly great for the beckett hitch suspension - you can slide the pockets on and off in seconds.Doubles.jpg
I was inspired and made something similar, thanks for the idea! I made mine from some old seatbelt webbing, it fits the Dutchware spreader bars perfectly.

I was looking for a solution to do something similar with trekking poles, and I think that with bigger pockets, this will totally work. Thanks for the idea!
