    It will work for sure but it really depends on the size/weight you intend the pack to carry.

    Well, I carry about 15lb in an REI 22Flash and it has less than 1/4 inch padding on shoulders or waist. Could it be more comfortable with more padding? I am sure it could but I do mostly base camping with longer day hikes so it works well for me. No one can really tell you what will work best for you but I would give 1/4 a shot and built it so I could upgrade to 3/8 if need be.

    Okay thanks for the help everybody. I've completed all my orders to get this pack made. Supplies on the way from RSBTR, Quest, JRB, Dutch, and have some on hand from Zpacks.
