Looks like a great trip even with the small detour. How long were you able to watch the bear forage around? Must have been a neat site.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

It was only a few minutes before he smelled or heard me. I tried filming it but it was hard to see him through the tree canopy and was pretty boring footage. He wasted no time getting out of there once he noticed me. Thanks for watching

Nice little overnighter hike, and cool that you had it to yourself. Very cool that you got to see the bear foraging a bit also

Thanks for the video! It's good to see what the terrain looks like up that way.

Love the Catskills. Love the Adirondacks more, but when time is limited, can't beat the Catskills. Looks like a great little loop.

Never been hiking in the Adirondacks, only snowmobiling. Have a trip planned in September that I'm looking forward to. Thanks for watching.

Beautiful place and trip. Glad you got out. Let's just hope a porcupine doesn't get under a hammock and then get scared. Yikes!

I will tell you that it startled me when I walked down from setting up my hammock to start boiling some water. It was already pitch black and I was sitting inside the shelter when he popped around the corner. I had my headlight off and I saw it moving in the moonlight and initially thought it was a skunk that was only about 4 feet from me. The bear was the highlight of the trip for me though, I tried to get some decent video of him foraging but it just didnt happen.

Disappointing to crest a slope and have your view hemmed in by trees. BTDT.

Fun vid, thanks for taking us along!
