Side panel pulls - shock cord or lash-it?

I am putting the finishing touches on my DIY SilPoly tarp. My previous tarp didn't have side panel pulls, so I never had to tackle the question of how best to use them with my trekking poles to get some extra shoulder room under the tarp. There are two methods I am aware of. I could use a couple pieces of lash-it with one prussiked to the other and use that to increase the tension once the line was connected to the poles. Or I could just use a piece of shock cord. Any thoughts on which is better? Are there other methods I'm unaware of?

I put a loop of shock cord through the pull loop and then do the prussic of other cord to the shock cord. Easy to adjust and has some give to it in high wind. I use either 3/32 or 1/8 shock cord, which every one I have at the time. I also use a cord with a lower break strength since I don't need the strength on the panel pulls, and braided mason line is cheap and you can splice it too.
