    Climashield sale 7/14 through ???

I just put Climashield on sale again. I got in a 18 rolls of the 3.6 ounce and I need to make room. These are the best prices I know of.

    http://www.dutchwaregear.com/climashield-apex.html

    2.5 oz ....sale 6.00
    3.6oz.....sale 8.00
    6oz..,..sale 12.00

I am headed out hiking but probably the elves will probably take it off sale when they get tired of cramming it into boxes.

I will be ordering some tomorrow. Thanks for the sale. Which material do you recommend for a TQ?

    Dutch,

Quick question. I got to a section of the my Climashield that I ordered that has some very thin spots...almost bare. Everything else had been pretty uniform, so was not sure if it was normal to happen. I ended up taking a bunch of scraps, tearing them in half and hand stitching them over the thin areas. Is there any better way to deal with this issue?

    Thanks.

Strange you mention that. I noticed the same thing on my last order of 6 oz. I was able to work around nearly all of it. I baste stitched some as a "patch" in the one area I couldn't avoid just as you did. Can't beat the price, though! Thanks, Dutch!

We roll it out on a table, cut it and pack it up. I'm afraid it is the nature of the beast. We try to give a little extra to compensate.

I'm working with some 6 oz. Climashield Apex today, and I haven't found thin spots in the 5 yds I got from Dutch. Some years ago I got some Climashield Green from another source and had to mix layers carefully to compensate for thin spots, so I was relieved. I recently used some Primaloft Gold. It's a bit harder to sew without catching fibers, but it's more uniform in thickness. Soon I'll be using the same insulated bridge hammock design with some Primaloft Silver, so I'll be able to make comparisons.
