Preferred strap length for WBBB XLC buckles

I found some polyester strapping that works well with my XLC buckles, but each strap is 15ft long. Before I cut it, I wanted to find out what your preferred strap length is.

15' is pretty good for length. You can always shorten later.
    Carry forth.

I have 15' and have considered shorting but then I go on a trip and need at least one 15'. So now they are both staying 15'

15 foot is that standard that the hammock would have come with originally and that most webbing based suspensions use. Less might work depending on you tree spacing and size that you normally work with. Keep in mind though that if you travel that might not be the case

Yep, 15' is a good length. Over here on James Island, or down on Cumberland Island National Seashore, the trees are REALLY big, so I sometimes have to go even longer than 15'. For mountain hiking in the SE, I agree that 15' is a good length. As a side note, I started out using straps, moved to slings, but in the end I always go back to straps. I just find them easier to work with in the end. Dutch's cinch bugs are my current preferred method of attachment, at least until he comes up with something new that I want to try.

Stay at 15 never thought I would need it until my last hang. I needed every bit of the 15 ! All the other trees I had to chose from were to close for a comfy hang.

Sweeper, where on James Island do you hang? JI County Park? Are you going to PSH Fall Sprawl?
