This reminds me, I need to put longer lines on my tarp ends. Sometimes, if the trees are a long ways apart and you are in a hurry, you might have to improvise. I like tying onto trees best.
Search for knots that you can use to tie line to line, i connected two 13 foot pieces of no tangle to make a ridgeline for my second hammock.
pull one end of my tarp out of the stuff sack and connect it to the prussic by putting the prussic loop through the dring on the tarp and putting a stick through the loop.
Was just thinking about hooking the prussic loop to a tiny carabiner that's hooked to the tarp...but I'm wary cause it sounds too easy.

I do that.
Only point of caution is I'd do it only with the tarp cord under the tarp, so that the strain on the mini-carbiner is minimal. I've bent those little guys with not a lot of stress on them.
