One of these times I will get out there. I had a canoe trip come out of no where for this last hang. I missed y'all but I did catch a load of walleye and smallmouth...

Is anyone else interested in Newport State Park? Are you talking about this winter? Or next spring? I would for sure be interested in this. It would be much closer for me. But it cannot be during hunting season. I will be busy.

Also, the park is closed to camping from November 19th until December 8th.

Are you talking about this winter?

Since we are already talking about hanging at Da Shack near Iola, WI in early November or early December, obviously not then. Late Winter or afterwards is open. Sites can be reserved only between May 1st through October 31st, though it is highly unlikely there will be much competition for sites outside those dates.

Which weekends would people be interested in?

This winter, definitely. Never made it last winter so this year it is! With Da Shack hang being a go, and a guaranteed good time, I'll head to Newport Beach later in winter AFTER hunting!

I've never been there, but was told by park management there are some well protected sites. Not necessarily my first choice, but the weather will dictate site selection.

In all honesty, unless someone local to the area plans a hang, I'll be winging it. Last minute, most likely, when my schedule opens up or I just gotta get out!!
