You will definitely lose some weight moving from those "multi-loop" straps and carabiners.

I like the ADutchable clip on my straps because the strap itself is completely adjustable. On the strap loop, I have an 7/64 Amsteel lead(one line only, or half a Whoopie Sling) to my Dutch Speed Hook to CL(Continuous Loop) to hammock. I can adjust from as little as: strap to tree(any length), MSH at tree and CL from hammock directly on MSH. This is just a few inches from the tree(of course, tarp to long for this); to as long as strap all the way extended(6' minus tree circ.), Amsteel lead(6'), Speed Hook, CL.

Completely extended, I have had to use my hiking poles to push my straps higher then my reach. Using the short straps and 1 lead per side is less bulky than straps alone or straps + Whoopie Slings and a little lighter. Not enough for me to tell a difference on either since I'm not a UL hiker.

Whatever your suspension, get out there and let's have a great time by the fire.
