Hmmmm... I'm not sure yet. It will my my wife's sisters birthday that weekend.

And I have been camping every weekend that I have had off for the last 6 months (check out my facebook or Myspace pictures)

But I might be able to make it for one night, or at least come chill for the day.

I'm thinking about it, so don't count me out.
I'm going to go check out the camp site tomorrow since I am not very familiar with it.

just saw this thread, been on the hunt for an UQ & TQ. I will check with my wife's schedule (works at Richland Hospital). If I can get free that weekend, count me in . . . whichever weekend it turns out to be.

    Current Status:

talked with the property owner on Saluda River, but due to vandalism he is not allowing any use of his property

Talked with Harbison and you have to be a youth group with liability insurance to camp there. they have 4 primitive sites there for you guys with kids in Scouts, Y-Indians, etc

Rode by SCE&G boat ramp #4 and that is definately doable! Even has a restroom! Ricegravy, did you get by there? I was looking at the area near the docks. Appears others have camped there as well and it is close to the parking area that was open. Gravel area was closed, may call SCE&G tomorrow to find out when it is open.

Details are slowly coming together, need to lock down the weekend.

If I camp at SCE&G 4, it wouldn't be anywhere near the docks, too many people and such there, follow the trails down through the woods, plenty of campsites on the water and away from the activity but still not too far of a walk to the bathrooms or the picnic shelter and all that.
Relax, monsters under the hammock are easily distracted by twister-playing squirrels.

Not yet, but I will check it out either today or tomorrow.
Like Dameon is talking about I am going to walk down the trails and see what the realestate looks like on the water.
We wouldn't be camping right on the parking lot

Nah, not too many trees to tie to in the asphalt

I was thinking about a couple of posters said their gear wasn't too portable. Didn't mean right at docks, but just beyone. If they open the gates to the gravel parking area it's not far at all down to the water on the point. (Not very far, maybe extra 75-100 yds with gates closed) Talked to a fisherman while there who seems to frequent the area and he said he has seen 1 tent in last 3 weeks.

    Sce&g 4

Well I checket out SCE&G 4 today with my buddy Keith.
Here are some pics of the site.

This is the sign in the parking lot.

This is a camp site down by the water on the point.

This is another camp site down on the point.

These next three are of the camp site that is near the boat ramp and the parking lot.

We didn't see any boats the whole time that we were there. I don't see anything wrong with the site near the boat ramp.
    Looks like good fishing opportunities!

I am interested and have a friend that is game as well. Still confirming my wife's work schedule before I can commit. If my BB gets here before then I may have a 3rd person coming with me. Any word if the owners of the new store may join us? And just out of curiousity, are these free sites? Looks great to me and I'm wondering how I didn't know about this site sooner.

In any event, I will definitely be out there to meet you guys if I can't stay overnight. OR . . . may just drag my 2 girls with me if my wife has to work.
