    Just to weigh in,

    and I carry more weight than most (!) I like the new buckles. Some complain that the WB / AHE type of double plate buckles are slow to adjust (lengthening the webbing) but once one learns to orient them at 90-100 degrees from the pulling direction I can adjust them easily.

    And they DO NOT SLIP!
