Just completed a Sgt Rock inspired "Ghost" Hammock as well from the material. 104" X 50" are the dimensions. I didn't add a footbox, but I might in the future. It feels pretty comfy so far as is.

I need to pick a permanent suspension for it. I transferred a cheap continuous loop from an Amazon hammock I bought last spring, but that was test purposes.
Just weighed it in a stuff sack, and with (2) 6 foot sections of mule tape run through the end channels, and it came out at 13.5 ozs. I'm going to redo the stuff sack tonight.

What were the initial dimensions of the fabric you used for the double ended stuff sack, before sewing? I'm about to make one for my own (also recently made DIY) hammock, but don't have a sense for the sizing.

That's a clever method. I've already underestimated twice on a stuff sack for my 104"x50" hammock I made for backpacking. I'll try your procedure tonight.
This webpage has a link to an Excel spreadsheet that calculates starting fabric size for a stuff sack based on your desired ending dimensions. I like it because it also calculates the volume of the finished product. Your way seems far easier for custom fitting things though.

Thanks. I've been using that method since my scouting days to hand sew my own stuff sacks.
Of course, now that I have tackled using a thread injector, that hand sewing stuff is for the birds!

Wanted a new stuff sack for my 5X7 tarp. The original stuff sack is on the left. The new stuff sack is in the middle. On the right is the last hammock I made in a new stuff sack. I still want to make a custom double ended sack for it, but I was using up a little bit of scrap first.
