I was doing searches and reading some time ago. A fellow said that he found he could just cram (or carefully slip) an unfinished sheet of climashield between the layers of his double layer hammock and it worked just fine. This thought kept rattling around in my mind and I thought ..... You know, I could make a double layer hammock with a piece of 2.5 climashield sewn in permanently. A 2 yard piece might be plenty, and I would put it up towards one end so it would be sure to be under my shoulders, allowing my feet to get cold -- or else I use a longer piece, maybe go really big and put 3 yards in (why not). Then sew it right in, but just sew it along the sides. In warm weather this ought to be just fine, and in cooler weather add an underquilt -- which wouldn't need to be as heavy as when the underquilt was doing the whole job. Another form of layering.

The only negative I can think about this is that the climashield is going to be somewhat compressed, or maybe a lot compressed.
But I am still tempted to try it.
