HG Winter Palace hardware and such recommendations

Hello. I am new to hanging (switching over from tents) and need your recommendations... I am ordering the HG Winter Palace and would appreciate your recommendations on hardware, lines, stakes, skins vs quick bags.. My primary goal is quick and easy set up and adjusting with the least knots on a daily basis. Lightweight is also important but ease of set up is first. Terrain for stakes is varied so I anticipate purchasing a variety to mix and match. Your expertise and recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

As for stakes that will vary I usually like the Ti V Shaped ones Dutch sells them. As for the line the guy out lines lots of options I use very thin line forgot the diameter of it. As for the attachment method. I take my line and on one end I have a fixed loop on the other end a knot. Then I prusik knot a fixed loop onto that line and larks head the prusik knot to the tarp. That allows me to place the fixed loop of the line to the stake and pull tight from the tarp. There fore if it needs to be tightened at night in the rain I can do that from under the tarp. No hard wear no knots super easy set up and break down. I always leave my lines attached so I dont loose them. Hope that makes sense.

For tarp hardware check dutchware ridgelines.
For tarp guylines
Lawson glowire
Z-line from zpacks
Speer no tangle from tree to tree
Or lashit or zingit from various vendors

I prefer the no tangle lines... dont need to hank them, just roll up into snakeskins along with the tarp

V shape stakes for dirt and spikes for rocky areas.

1.7 Lash It / Zing It or similar for tie outs.

Once again 1.7 Lash It / Zing It or similar for Tarp ridge line. I like to use a micro binner on one end and Dutch Wasp on the other. I find the Dutch Wasp the easiest to adjust of all Dutch's tarp toys.

Do not use Braided Mason Line. While it is strong enough, it tangles fast no mater what you do,

I keep my setup simple - Zing-It 1.75 for tarp ridgeline and tie-outs. I use a larkshead to connect the tie-outs to the tarp, and a marlin spike hitch on the stakes. The continuous ridgeline is a Dutch Hook and Wasp, and the tarp is connected to the ridgeline via Zing-It soft-shackle prusiks. I have cf snakeskins on the tarp. My hammock has a Zing-It 1.75 mm whoopie sling ridgeline and a Dutch biner.

I don't use shock cord tensioners because I don't think they do anything for cuben fiber (better suited to stretchy-when-wet fabrics like silnylon). Zing-It is about as no-tangle as you can get, so you won't catch me doing figure 8s and hanking my guylines. My stakes are still aluminum, though I may one day go to titanium.

When I go to group hangs, I find that tarps are the one area that brings out the anal-retentive nature of people. I'm just shocked at the amount of time people will spend on their tarp setup. It's definitely worth watching to see how much time people can spend on their tarps.

You're right. Lotso folks adding all sorts of thingies i dont need to their tarps.

Other than usually using a 2piece tarp ridgeline...Same setup here ( on most of my kits).

but im still using a flyz instead of a wasp. Oh, and Z-line for tarp tieouts - even less likely to tangle than zingit
- especially when its windy. Yep use both as guylines - moving towards all tarp tieouts using zline

I use lash-it for my ridgeline and all tieouts.

Ridgeline is dutch stingers to d-rings and fixed looped to lash-it.

Tieouts are lash-it fixed loop at one end larksheaded to tieout d-dings and marlin spike hitched to various tent spikes.

The doors are rigged with 1/4" shock cord to d-ring with mitten hooks on the ends.
