I have a Ridgerunner and cloudburst. I am wondering if anyone has tried a Grizz Beak with this combination? I know the doors won't completely close around the Ridgerunner suspension but I'm curious to know how much bennifit can be gained with a Grizz Beak.
I made a diy sil argon tarp last summer that incorporates something similar to the Grizz Beak. (kind of like the beaks on a Ray Jardine tarp) It provides a little more shelter on the ends, and might even make the tarp a little aerodynamic when wind is blowing thru the tarp (head and foot end). I say go for it! On my version, you can deploy the ends like a beak, bring them straight out (like a really long tarp) or can drop it down and secure it like the end of traditional tent. Lots of options!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

12x10 is as big as I have used a grizzbeak on. The tarp pitch angle is 90 degrees.
It would be very close if it would work at all since you need a wide angle for the RR spreader bars.
