    Hang Clark Hammock without poles?

Has anyone hung a Clark hammock that uses poles without them? There are loops behind each set of pole channels that you could theoretically run a structural ridgeline through. The poles on the Mark 2 are fussy enough that I wonder if it'd be worth giving it a shot. Anybody tried this?

Yep. The poles just open up the inside. You can attach a ridgeline and shockcord up to it from the loops. Or you can shockcord from the loops to a prussic on your suspension line to keep the top pulled up and away.

On the NX and TX 250's that I had it was surprising how much those thin poles spread out the hammock bed. You can use the hammock without them but it really closes in on you.
