Hey there Bankheadboy(Thomas?), I was there, and yes it really rained! Remember that log crossing you had to do across Beebranch the next morning in order to reach the rest of us? Remember the group you tried to spook the night before, thinking it was us? LOL! (Do I have the right fellow here? ) See post # 16:

Whatever date is picked, I'm going to think serious about this one, I have not been on a trip in a long time! And these Sipsey trips are always a blast! Although the last 2 Oct trips I made were VERY dry, too dry! Are Y'all thinking about packing into the wilderness? (hope so!)

BillyBob that was a trip to remember! Check out my buddy I'm holding in the picture. We had a good time even with Skippy getting sick and the rain (flood) I hope we can do it again for many years but with no one getting sick or toe nails falling off.

We've been holding the group hang at Wolfpen Hunters Camp, due to the "rule of ten or under" in the Wilderness Area. Except for one hang, we have had 20--30 participants. We do usually go on day hikes on Saturday or Sunday.

As the new kid on the block, my vote probably doesn't carry much weight, especially since I won't get there until Saturday, but I would prefer it NOT be the first weekend as I would really like to attend. I'm looking forward to meeting other hangers and seeing other setups.

Your vote counts as much as anyone's. If it's a toss-up, I would tend to give the noobs' preference a little more weight because they benefit more from attending group hangs.Getting to see lots of set-ups, learning tips, tricks,etc. and the opportunity to try out gear before buying.

Funny thing, right now our Scout troop has a campout tentatively scheduled for Oct. 10 & 11 at Wolfpen. I will be watching this thread and can change our troop plans accordingly.
