    Grand Trunk DBL length... ??

I noticed in several threads that the ENO Dbl was being criticized for being too short for real comfort at 9'4". That was one of the reasons that I selected a Grand Trunk instead.
Out of curiosity I pulled out my GT Dbl, but when I stretched it out across the floor with the big rock on the suspension at one end, I discovered that my purported 10'5" hammock measured 9'4" as well...!!
Both Amazon and GearLabs show it as being 10'5" long. Do you suppose they are measuring including the tie-offs and carabiners? I stripped those off, and I'm using continuous loops at the ends.
Whatever, the measured length of the fabric, even under some tension from the rock on the CL at one end, came in at 9'4".

Anybody have one of their own that they want to measure?
I sent off an inquiry to GT CS, and I'm waiting to hear back, but I'd be interested to know what you guys think.
Do you suppose that the ENOs and GTs are just really the same hammock from China, and one company simply measures differently than the other? ... just bad QC on different manufacturing lots?

Grand Trunk Double Parachute - fabric measurement is 112" (9'4") here also. Makes a big difference when is comes to a SRL.

It is common for the 'finished' length of mass produced hammocks to be less than advertised. At best, it is the length of the fabric before sewing the end channels.

I had a response to my inquiry to the manufacturer...
[from <[email protected]>] "The hammocks are measured from carabiner-to-carabiner and our apologies for the confusion."

Now, he doesn't say from which end of the carabiner they are measuring, but the bottom line is the fabric/bag of the hammock is 9 feet 4 inches long. In my humble opinion, and for my personal use, that is too small. It is certainly the explanation why I could not get comfortable, nor get my 72 inch pad to spread on much of a diagonal.

My consolation is that I am still within my 30 day return period from Amazon, so, mine is going back.
Pity, because I really liked its color combination of crimson and khaki.

Wish I would have been able to set mine up or seen this thread before the 30 days were up.
