Wish I could make it out, but I am still not comfortable enough with my setup to make a cold-weather hang. Plus I still don't know if I'll have work or not. Hopefully once spring hits I'll have all the kinks worked out in my hanging system and I can start making some of these group hangs.

other plans are looking shaky, I might be in
If I come, I could probably get down there mid Fri afternoon
I've been to the gorge 3-4x but most definately NOT comfy in knowing where I'm going

HA HA Just kidding. I hope you can make it, but if not hopefully I will see ya in the spring. After reading a book about the Sheltowee I was thinking of doing a section hike of the trail sometime in the spring. Hiking from Red River Gorge to Cave Run Lake which is approximately 38.1 miles. Should be able to be done in three days.

My new favorite is Hanson's Point just up the hill. Beautiful views but you have to bring in your water.

Yea, I can see it being roped off, only 1.9 from the parking lot it gets a bit of use. BUT, we can camp nearby where the tenters never go. And away from the water.

Hanson's: Real nice place, bit of a climb if you aint feelin it. Decidedly no water up there. Not a bunch of hanging sites, but likely enough for them what is coming.

    Kukri, sending PM soon!
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing. If you need any company on that trip, let me know.

Here's a map of the area per rigidpsycho's request:
