great, please let me know when you start selling this as a kit!
Very interested in the French seam ridgeline & the details on reinforcing/attaching D-rings.
I have done a felled French seam before, but this would be one less step with a whole bunch of material.
Will the Ridgeline be seam sealed in some way? Is the standing part of the French seam to the outside of the tarp or to the inside?
I snuck out this morning before going to the shop and got some photos of the MEMBRANE silpoly tarp. Will report back later on some post-build thoughts. I left it out today hoping for rain, so no final weight yet.

Very nice looking tarp. Are you bringing it to HangCon 1 (Annual Florida Hang) in January?
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
I've always done the standing French seam over the felled seam. I've had good luck without seam sealing when using the standing French seam, but YMMV. I guess working theory is that when you fold over to do the felled seam you're opening the stitch broadside to water, thus making it more likely to come in.
That being said, this is a UL tarp made from the Membrane which is thinner and lighter than everything else I've used. I'll probably seal it for good measure.
...standing part to the outside.
just in time for back to school! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOTBTeEHQFo
She looks awesome Kyle. I don't think you'll need to seal that French seam. It what I have on mine and it's been through some heavy weather without a bit of problem. Keep it light and enjoy. Hey, weren't you gonna do a giveaway on this tarp?
