I like the idea of a small led in the Hammock. During the Summer on at least a couple of occasions I had trouble finding my hammock after a nightime "call of nature". Leaving a small light on would certainly solve that problem. My headlamp of course goes with me but it is not powerful enough to easily find my rather stealthy hammock at more than about ten yards.

There's nothing stealthy about my hammocks - I use kelty triptease for the tarp guylines

That said, I do put a sweet little Black Diamond lantern on the ridgeline, so if I were to leave at night and was worried I might not be able to find the hammock, I would turn that sucker on.

I hang my Petzl lamp from the ridgeline, hang a JGH/PC lengthwise under the hammock with it's own suspension cables for the pack and shoes, and hang my trekking poles from the gear hammock cables... That is unless I am using them for awning supports....

For those situations, when I know I'll be a ways from my well hidden camp, I have a small bicyclers LED flashing light I clip to the ridgeline & "aim" in the general direction I am going. Haven't needed it yet, but I have been a bit confused once before carrying it, so,,,,,,,,,

Yep, it kind of temporarily ruins the stealthiness of my camp, but at lest I don't (Wont) have to spend the night on the ground.

For some time now I've been wearing a Photon (Freedom) around my neck, under my shirt when I camp.
I hardly know it's there but if I find myself needing light & my head lamp's not handy, it's always there.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I keep a Proton in my Hammock (as I have said) at all times and I keep one in the pocket of my Tilley hat. I put a piece of velcro on the hat bill and also the mated side of the velcro I glued to the Proton. This way a small proton is able to become a headlamp with no effort and it is always in my hat waiting.

If you don't own a Tilley then you are really missing a great multi-functional piece of equipment.

One quick story, I once rode my wave runner with my Tilley on and it didn't budge. I love it.

I have a Photon Freedom II permanently hanging from my WB ridgeline for use to organize when turning in or getting up. Sometimes I use the BB shelf for objects in my pockets that are uncomfortable to sleep with. I either hang my pack on a tree branch stub or leave it on the ground under the hammock. Since it's 1.5oz cuben fiber it's water and small rodent proof. Shoes on the ground under the left side of my WB where I will be putting my feet down when I get out.
