I bought the tubular stuff at REI. Here are the links to some pictures.

I'm impressed that your machine could actually sew the stuff. The 9/16 is really thick, I don't think mine could handle it.

My friend, Tango61, actually did the sewing. I think he used a heavier machine to do it. I'll ask him when i next see him.

Yes, have a look in the Ring Buckles discussion. There are a LOT of different webbing options discussed there.
I hate ordering online. You can't see or feel exactly what you are getting so you can only hope you will really like it. Then you have to wait for it to come in. Plus, if they send it through the wrong shipping company it won't be left at your door or at the managers office. Instead I have to go out to their office on saturday in the 2 hour time frame that they are open just to pick it up. Then if it is the wrong thing, or not what I liked and I reorder, I have to go through it all again. So either way I have to get dressed to pick it up.

Yeah, that whole getting dressed thing really gets in the way sometimes.

I had very little stretch when using this stuff. My hammock was a little lower when getting out then when getting in, but not as much as the OEM setup. It actually worked out well, as it allowed for easy release of the rings.

I left my straps at about 14'. I'll eventually trim them to about half that. With my prefered 6 paces, I don't need that much length. To hang on a 1' diameter tree, quick math says I need about 6 feet of strap (I wrap twice). so maybe I'll only go to 10'. That will allow me to hang at 6-8 paces. Much more than that is too far apart.
    Peace,
    Joe

It really does. Plus, those signs that say "no shirt, no shoes, no service" are really misinforming. They need to include "no pants" also so people stop getting into trouble. I'm just gonna get a mumu.
