Might be helpful for someone to explain the procedure for the raffle.
Also agree with hoosierdaddy about setting date for spring hang. Would allow for people to schedule time off if needed. Might be a good idea to set fixed dates for both hangs.

You would need to say something like the first weekend of November or second to last Friday of October.
Get lost in the woods and find yourself again. A vacation,to me, is working with your hands and surviving because of the fruits of your labor. In the business world I teach;in the natural world I learn.
At this point I'm not exactly sure how the raffle play out exactly but in the past we have done a white elephant gift exchange sort of thing.
Directionally challenged...comicly so.
Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
In the past, the hands were supposed to be on the weekends closest to tax day, April 15th, and Halloween. However, the actual dates have varied.
Like others, I have to ask for time off in January. It has usually been a mad scramble to rearrange my schedule at the last minute when the dates are not what I expected.
Having set dates would be great, but it would be better if we stuck to them.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
I might be able to make this one, missed the Spring hang due to wedding. It would be nice to see firm dates for these hangs so folks can plan out far enough. Like last weekend in October for fall and weekend before 4/15 if 4/15 is not on a weekend. Some of the other hangs have a set date every year so folks can plan to attend example being Florida Hang is always MLK Day weekend in Jan. Just food for thought
I agree HoosierDaddy,
Also i think we should have a set date.... However in all fairness there were two dates that were most popular.... Weekend before Halloween and Weekend after.... I don't know about most people but this was planned so far in advance i asked my employer to tentatively hold those two dates and when one was decided id let them know.... I think most companies would go along with that due to such early notice.... Im not trying to bust on people, just don't want people to be mad for missing something....
The plan is to talk about a set date @ the hang and post a poll after to set a permanent "date".
The subject discussed at length in the date locale thread and it seems to be unanimous that a set date would be helpful.
Moving forward, Let's please keep the conversations in this thread focused on this year's hang.

I believe TrailMedic made a very nice sign-up sheet for one of the hangs. Maybe you can get it from him.
I'm so in for some adolescent philosophical dumbass fireside discussion.
