So I've finally finished hemming my new silpoly tarp, and am about to embark on adding all the tie-outs to it. However, I do want to add center panel tie-outs (2 to a side). I am not very good at cutting circles in silpoly and the idea of trying to sew it without different tension on the two layers of fabric has already got me annoyed
So I was wondering if anyone has had success just using silicone seam sealer (silnet, ge silicone II caulk, or permatex) to glue the patch down, or do people typically just bite the bullet and sew them down?
Also, would a square reinforcement patch (with the corners rounded slightly to avoid peeling) work, or is a circular patch demonstrably better at distributing the tension?
Thanks!
