Thumbs up +PICTURES+ Hanging up in the canopy of a Minnesotan cotton wood...

WOOOT! After weeks of sewing my new tarp I was FINALLY able to get out on a tree camping adventure and test out my Tom Claytor Bat Hammock

The temps were in the 70's and the mosquitoes were far and few so the trip was a success. I love sleeping with my tarp up but I kept getting awoken by the few pesky mosquitoes who decided to join me up in the canopy. I didn't have enough time to reach the top before dark but I was still very happy with my campsite. Check out the photos below:

Here is a shot of the hammock with my new tarp deployed,

Me posing for a sleep picture . Dang this hammock is comfy!

Here is a photo that my camera took when I was swinging around and had autoshoot going. I thought it looked wicked so I had to post it!

And here is camp with my tarp UN-deployed, is that a word?

I hope you enjoyed the photos!

Way cool. Non deployed? Anti deployed? De deployed? Shoot, undeployed is as good as it gets.

Although "stowed" is the word I was searching for I think I am going to use "de deployed" from now on. Haha, I love it.

Great pics but I especially like that autoshoot photo. I second de-deployed.

Good stuff. As a career arborist tree canopy camping is something that has interested me for some time.

If there isn't one already, a sub forum would be interesting.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

VinTin, a subforum would be epic! I have been trying to increase the interest in treecamping for a few years now so I would be happy to see that it became so popular there is a subforum for it on hammock forums. But alas, most of the tree camping stories I have read about come from career arborists. I know one of the mods gmcttr rec climbs and tree camps but other than that????
