    9 nights in a PeaPod

I received my brand new PeaPod III today. The specific measurements written on the tag are 19 oz down (2 oz overstuff), 38 oz total weight.

On Friday, October 23, I will embark on a 9 night test. Nighttime temps are forecast to range from below freezing to high 40's. I'll use the PeaPod with my Speer 8.5A hammock, underneath either a Guide Gear camo tarp or a Speer Winter Tarp.

I'll let you know how it goes!

    It's no secret...

10/23 - 10/25 Camp Cheerio, just east of Stone Mountain State Park, NC.
10/25 - ... Take the BRP from Camp Cheerio to Linville.
    10/25 - 10/29 Pre-Halloween Mid-Week Linville Gorge Hang.
10/29 - 11/1 Halloween in The Sipsey Hang

I'm really looking forward to this!

Tonight my daughter will be the first to use the PeaPod. It's on her hammock in her room right now. So, the first thing we'll learn is how to vent the thing!

Well, that's easy! Just open 'er up! Sounds like you are really going to put it to the test during that 9 day stretch.

    Pea Pod

Bring an additional top quilt. For temps below 50 you WILL need it to fill in the large open air space caused by the hammock sides keeping the Pea Pod from settling down over you.

I use the peapod successfully down to freezing with no top quilt.

Your new JRB Hood should work well with the Frog Sac.
