This is the map you will want i have marked the spots where i have camped in orange circles, the two to the fare left on trail 001 are the spots i think you will like.

There is some water but it will be in small stagnate pools filter a must, it's only going to get to about 50* so i'm usually good with a pad and good sleeping bag, I haven't seen any thing on fire bans yet, Oh and the cool nights have gotten the snakes coming out late in the evening to sun on the rocks. if you have a emergency 911 will call saline county and our # is 618-287-2271 Hardin County Sheriff's Dept. where the ESDA will come from. If you have any questions just ask........dang I with I was off this weekend....mad face.....oh the bugs are still out here

i am getting so psyched, guys, I got the steaks last night, I like the idea of meeting up at pharaohs and from simple survival, thanks for the info..we go to one of those sights on the overhang to hang the next day..I'll see you guys there tomorrow!

I lost a pedometer while taking a break on a log not far from the western most camping spot, going to try to find it. Treasure hunt! Looks like a little horse action on the way up to those spots. Here's a pic I had in the series just before the overlooks... IMG_4973.jpg
When people ask me how hiking can be hard I can show them that lol.
They're forecasting rain for St Louis Friday night and most of So Il from what I can see. Is that what you guys are hearing?
I'll be down a little earlier than planned, I'll send out my cell in case there's any confusion. Gideon, will you have a GPS with you?
No GPS but I'll find you at the Pharoah's camp ground. If you decide to move, leave a note under your wiper blade of where you "think" you're going and I sent my cell, so if there's cell service we'll work it out. If not, we'll manage it and no matter what, no worries!
