andy, let me know where at the map you're going to stay at. I requested off, so I'll be able to see you there on friday
Let's meet at the campers parking lot and hike in together. I can be down there early afternoon, by 2.
There's a good chance I can come down Friday but it would be in the evening. If you know where you're going to camp that night, I can meet you there. If not, I can find a spot myself and then meet everyone Saturday morning at the agreed to location.

I am so psyched..this is going to be my first group hang...ill bring some brats for a weenie roast on friday
It'll be my first time to this location which is always exciting. Meeting new folks a definite plus!
If you guys can pick a spot and try to pinpoint it for Friday night, I can try to catch up with you.

You can buy a nice map for $5 at the headquarters.
Get lost in the woods and find yourself again. A vacation,to me, is working with your hands and surviving because of the fruits of your labor. In the business world I teach;in the natural world I learn.
There are two parking lots on Picnic Rd, which is a loop off of Garden of the Gods road. Then there's parking at the Pharoh campsite, which is also on picnic road. Why don't we all meet and car camp at at The Pharoh campground Friday and hike/explore on Saturday? I might hike in a few miles and hang at the overlooks on the R2R Saturday night, or maybe somewhere on the Indian point trail or somewhere else that looks interesting!
I'm stoked, haven't been in the main park in 20 years!
Andy,
That sounds like a great idea. If we're going to car camp on friday night, which i like doing..im bringing in some steaks! Ive gone there once b4, but was very uneventful because i got sick. I would love to see those rock formations and like sit on the overlooks likeall of those adverstisements. Totally psyched!
Hey guys, I have been chatting up with some of the people in the HammockForums fb group and they were telling me that if we go on hiking trail 001 from the backpackers lot and head west for about 2 miles, there are 2 sites where you can hang over an overhang...but he also told me that this time of year the water is dried up, so to bring some water, I know andy said he'll bring water, but ill bring a bladder just in case also
