    Done & done!
At least if you count the number of times I'm in the back yard. I'm out at least 3 days a month, year round, in SW Ohio. No pictures, I never think of that.
Cold in winter, you need more insulation, although I have the opposite problem sometimes, I get too warm, sweat, get wet, then get cold. My solution, start out with no top insulation, even at well below freezing, cover when cold.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Donk67 and I are getting in our first hang of 2016 on the 1st day of January. We're enjoying the snow at Hoist Lakes in northern Michigan. 26 degrees and playing with some new gear

5/5! Spent New Years Day in the woods and had a great time. image.jpgimage.jpg

It got down around mid 20s but it had a Feel temp of 16 as a low. My superfly and incubator kept me toasty.

Get lost in the woods and find yourself again. A vacation,to me, is working with your hands and surviving because of the fruits of your labor. In the business world I teach;in the natural world I learn.

Backyard hang last night. It finally got below freezing and I had to sleep out. Low of 25. I'm still hopeful for another outing in January.

Got December marked off weekend after xmas (and actually, weekend before too!) No pictures, but was my first overnight hang with my Incubator 0, was way to much and got to hot with that and my 20 sleeping bag (temps only got somewhere down in the 20s). Supposed to finally be winter up here in Maine this next few weeks so hope to really test out the cold weather setup, along with my new SuperFly! Previous hangs were with the Kelty Noah 12 tarp, good coverage, but couldn't close the ends off enough on my first night out and it was extremely windy and got a bit chilled from it.

I also got January in this weekend. Windchills were down to around 12°. It was interesting getting the tarp set up in higher winds and not using stakes but snow buried branches and small logs. I really did not think it would hold but it did and I was quite comfortable. The WB Superfly did a great job of keeping most of the wind out.

Here is December. Also did November, but it pretty much looked exactly the same as my October hang. I believe this puts me at 4 for 4. I put this one off until the last minute, like Dec 31, which was also the coldest night we have had so far. Got down to 3*. Last minute decision to hang resulted in a less than stellar tarp pitch, but it worked out. Slept 8 hours, was only awoken at midnight with fireworks and people banging pots and pans and yelling "Happy New Year." Apparently they didn't realize a semi-insane man was sleeping in a hammock within earshot.

That flash is insanely bright in the wee hours of the morning! No way I could keep my eyes open.

I am hoping my hangs only get warmer from here.
