[QUOTE=Snydman;1703518]I got 10 for 10 on my birthday Saturday. Overnighter on San Bernardino peak trail.. 15 miles round trip 5,000 feet of elevation. Camp site at Limber Pine Bench overlooks the city below. Amazing sunset with the full moon to light up the night. Almost at my one year mark on HF. Started with nothing now with 3 UQs, 2 TQs and 2 WBBB XLC with a FreeBird on order!
Loven IT!
Beautiful location!
Got a couple of question about the "PUP TENT" I guess you could call it. hehehe If you dont mind answering a couple of them. I was curious how tall is that tent from the ground to the top of your RL? Kinda curious on the height for a tall dog or dogs to be able to stand up and turn around. Also, what is your floor dimensions? It looks pretty narrow. Might just the angle of the photo.
Thanks
Well I made it to 12. Last night was only in the mid 40s, 10 degrees warmer than last month. It's been a busy year and I think I would have only been out once of it weren't for this challenge. Now on to year two next month.
[QUOTE=hitec4you;1704763] Not sure on the exact dimensions once I get it set up for ridge line to bottom but I have two large dogs 75 pounds and 65 pounds that have room to stand by my foot and head end and plenty of space lying flat underneath my hammock. I like the fact that it's a little lower to the ground when I'm lying and it keeps things a little warmer for them I think.
There is a string link below that goes into details about a couple of manufacturers that are making this type of dog netting

I still want to do a patch for the original one night a month for 12 months. Anyone good at art can shoot me a design & i will produce & distribute.
I will also put forth an additional challenge for the second year:
Camp TWO nights every month of the second year.
15/15 this weekend at Pine Mountain GA. It finally got cold for us and hit 33F this morning with 15-20 mph gusts.
Full winter TQ & UQ did their jobs and kept me toasty. I was glad to have the extra long TQ to pull over my head.
Met a neighbor camper who was doing a first run in a high end setup. I hope everything went well and he was able to dial in the UQ for a challenging weather night.
8 for 8 since April. Backyard hang, because my wife is sick and there wasn't going to be another chance to get out this month. Tested my quilt-set, success!
It only got down to 34. I'm not sure how much colder I could have gone with my set. I was disappointed though, the forecast was for 30. I'll have to try again!
Got one in so far for November bringing the tally up to 5/5. I was able to get out in a little colder weather this time to test things out. Temps got down to 21* F. Using the winter cover seemed to help and the 0* Wooki kept me warm on the bottom. However, I don't have a cold-weather top quilt, so I was using a 0* sleeping bag and it may have helped some too. 15/15 with another backyard hang, two nights so that's the third month of the second year at two nights apiece. The new challenge is on.
Is it too late to get in on this? I have hung at least one night a month in my hammock June through November. Should be able to get the rest of the way through.
