How long is your ridge line?

I'm using tarp wasps and TATO tarp connectors on lash-it. I've gone through several ridge line lengths. Its either way too long and I have to deal with all the excess, or I cut it down and find out its too short. I can't seem to figure out where the sweet spot is.

    About the same. ~35'

Not sure why you'd use more than one Wasp on a CRL though(?)

30 feet or 10 meters (that is a tiny bit more than 30 feet). That length has worked for me over the years.

30ft of Lash-It, with Dutch hook on one end and one wasp on my CRL.

I use 2- 10 foot lengths. Have never needed any longer. Never could get to like single ridge line.

The CRL I have is 35' but I usually use Stingerz with 12' of zing it on each.

    Is that a euphemism?

Got thinking about this, particularly after a couple of two-lines responses came in...

Let's say the two trees for my example are x feet apart. The necessary lengths of either separate lines OR a CRL to get the tarp up vary significantly depending on the technique used.

One person using two lines might loop around the tree and pass one end through a spliced eye (or use a Dutch Hook) and then run the individual line to the D ring, possibly using hardware, but not necessarily. (No mechanical advantage.)

Another person might go for the "V", necessitating more line for the same distance and getting the 2:1 mechanical advantage.

    Other options/variations exist.

For a CRL, it's going to be many of the same basic ideas except the line needs to be longer by the added length of the tarp ridge.

The OP is pretty specific about using a CRL with tensioners. I'm assuming there's no strong desire to incorporate the "V"s.

IMHO, 30-35' is what most experienced hangers would opt for, given the OP's parameters.

At times, yes, there will be a fair amount of excess. I would neatly coil it and hang it on the CRL.
