Speaking of sleeping bags, I just saw these at Sportsmans Guide:

    www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=345924&pn=3
    www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=345921&pn=2

    Deals are good thru 5/25
First one to order gets $5.00 off when you use coupon code #SH569

I use the 3rd bag as a quilt in warmer weather. I cut off the zippers.
Do a search on this site about this bag. It was very popular.

i recently got one of the older pea pods (sewn through construction) & i really like the versatility.
unless it's pretty warm you would still want to user a top quilt w/ it but you can stay warm w/ a much lighter top quilt because the pea pod closes up on top.
i'm still thinking about the trade offs on weight as we get into warmer weather (i won't need it when the nights stay warm of course), but i'm convinced that it can take me through a pretty wide range of temps.
BTW...i may have helped ed speer w/ his booth at trail days last week end, but i have no investment in the company<g>. just giving my honest opinion. ...tim

Thanks a lot for all the advice, I think I'm gonna make a down hammock and use a quilt.

The 3rd one linked is the one I did my summer quilt article on. It weighed about 29oz before my trimming and about 15oz after.

It is really easy to make a synethic bag into a quilt.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
