Hello from Illinois (near STL)

Hello, from Illinois (Metro East STL area). I'm brand new to hanging. Recently purchased a HH Expedition Classic. I've only set it up in the backyard so far. Unfortunately I've been way too busy with work, family, and a major home improvement project to get out in the woods. Hoping to make it down to the Shawnee Natl. Forest area sometime in the fall. Recently added a Jacks R Better 3-season underquilt to my gear in anticipation of cooler weather. Looking forward to hanging, and to hearing from fellow hammock campers on this forum. Anyone else in my neck of the woods?

I used to be...

I was born in Mt. Vernon and went to school mostly in Marion.

I went to Shawnee National Forest quite a bit growing. There are some really beautiful areas around there.

Thanks. My Dad grew up a bit north of Carbondale (Elkville). I still have relatives in that area. My daughter went to SIUC for one semester last year until she got home sick and transferred to a school close to home. I've always loved it down there.
