    Fleaz and fishing line

I'm going to try CRL one more again. This time I'm using 200lb test fishing line and a Ti dutch hook on one end, and I was thinking of using a Fleaz on the other. I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it with this line and does it hold? The line is only about 0.75mm

Good luck. I started using that line for my hammock RL after seeing one of your vids.

I've also got some 60lb spectra line that works well as a prussik on the 200lb line. Just hard to see and thin. Makes it hard to work with in cold weather or dark.

PM me if you need some and I'll drop some in the mail.

I appreciate it but I have some of that too LOL. I've got some 1.25mm Zline that holds well in many applications and is hard to tangle, but I can save a few grams by trying the fishing line instead. I just wanna see it work.

Are you using mono or hollow core braid?...the mono will stretch really bad even though it is 200# test...I would also be concerned with the possible nicking of the line as you lock it in the fleaz...then you also have the uv breakdown of the mono...the hollow core might be ok but for cost it would probably equal out or even be more expensive than Zing-it...if you know a blue fin tuna fisherman swapping out their hollow core on their reel that would be worth a test...

For what it's worth I used a Dutch hook to attach my ridge line. I attached it to my dyna glide suspension. The hook cut thru the dyna glide and dropped me.
The ridge line was pretty tight as I was just setting up and adjusting things. Didn't see any sharp edges. So with the small size and potential high tension on the ridge line I gave up trying it again.

I appreciate the feedback. I've been using the titanium Dutch hooks to connect my ridgeline back to itself for years now and attached the line to the tarp with a prusik. It has been very successful but I wanted to give the CRL one more try again as I keep trying it and switching back.

I've got a Dutch Flyz on one end of the tarp and now I have a 35' CRL made from 200lb test hollow braid spectra fishing line. On the end of that line I have a Dutch hook connected via a figure 8 knot. With the Flyz I can set it up and adjust it well, and the ridgeline only weighs about 5.5 grams with the hook, then add another 1.7 grams for the Flyz. In a test set up it worked well, but I wanted to go with the Fleaz because the Flyz is overkill in this application. It will save me about 0.7 grams as well LOL.

I see now I didn't see this was for a tarp.
I was trying the hook on the ridge line of the hammock so I could make it removable. I've used them on the tarp with no issues.

Got my fleaz in last night and played with them a little. So far they were fine. Trail and error testing starts Friday.

I've been using a prussic right off of the tarp RL loop. If your using a CRL you could also try a double prussic.

Hook on one side, flea on the other, and two double prussics for adjustment. Set CRL tension at 90%, adjust tarp, set CRL tension to 100%. You'd have to pack your CRL with your tarp, but that line you're using doesn't hold much water. Not sure if it's worth the weight savings with line that thin. The prussics might be annoying.
