Can someone please clarify if there will be a large pot available I can use to cook soup in for dinner Friday night? Pot will need to be much bigger than anything I have... If not I will pick one up but if there's ample pots I won't bother.
I planned for feeding 20 even though only 12-13 were signed up at last check.
    Thanks!

Can't believe I have to miss this hang! I've been prepping my system, built a pulk, modified my tarp, and slept in the yard so much my girlfriend thought I was mad at her! In the end I can't get out of work. Have fun everyone, take lots of photos, and maybe I'll see some of you at the Wisconsin hang next weekend. Looking forward to a trip report!

Toots and I will be leaving at 6 am Friday morning. We're blasting right through Finland and heading to Ely to loom at mukluks, then heading back. Should be there around 10-11am.
Getting stoked now. Should I bring my 10" dutch oven? I don't have a meal to cook in it myself this year, but I'll bring it if someone will have a use for it.

Thanks for the info Shug. Been hitting the Neti pot a lot, but will seek out the Fenugreek Powder ASAP

I will have a pot but not sure of the needed use. Won't be there until Saturday though at this point.
Maybe best to tote your own if you need one for sure.

Finland is warmer than St. Paul right now. I'm genuinely worried that Hillbilly will be wearing shorts when we arrive tomorrow.

Interesting new challenge to pack for a trip with a 45 degree temp swing.

After dropping the kiddos off at school, I went to check on the guys. Boy is it warm and wet, but unbelievably beautiful. If you are going to bring anything extra, I would bring gloves and socks so a few pairs can dry over the fire. On another note, there is a fairly large hill that you need to go down first and then back up again. Get some speed! I was stuck about 20 feet from the top for 3 HOURS!! Until someone with tow straps got me going again. THE ROAD IS NOT PLOWED FROM THE RECENT SNOW. The way back I went about 40 mph to get back out again. Go quick, Go straight. I put out large cardboard signs. Follow the road all the way back. You can drive up to the site, drop off your stuff and go back to park. Or you can pulk in. Site is on the right side of the road about 100 yards past the snowmobile crossing. Hopefully they will plow so I can stop back in to see how you all are doing. Have fun, stay dry!

    Butt hang

    Hi Hillbilly
I just joined the site yesterday and do not have a hammock, as of yet. I was directed to this site by Shawn Peyton. I have been posting questions about hammocks on BPL. Lot of good suggestions, but still totally confused. He told me about the hammock hang, that is happening in Finland, this weekend. He suggested I drive up and have people show me their hammocks. Not sure about today. Looks like you guys are going to have snow. I don't drive on crappy roads....;-(. If weather looks OK tomorrow, could I come and see what the hanging movement is all about? Sincerely Vicky Maki (energizer)
