Questions about tablecloth hammocks

I am considering either a gathered end or a channel on a DIY tablecloth hammock (132"x90").
I already have several straps (Kammok,Atlas) and plenty of Amsteel & carabiners, so a channel works for me, but is there any reason not to have both? I like the thought of having options!
For those of you that went with a channel, what type thread did you use (pardon my ignorance, I'm not the most knowledgable fella at "injecting thread").

You'll wanna use a polyester thread, but make sure it is good quality stuff. A lot of folks use Gutterman thread.
As far as the 90'' wide tablecloth fabric, you may want to cut it down to 70" or so -- otherwise the width ends just curl up in a gathered end/sewn channel build. Lots of info about widths here on the forum.
