Is it to late for me to maybe join in? I just moved to Northern KY, but have been to the Gorge many, many times.
I'm in for that weekend if it's at the RRG. My wife will probably come and I can maybe convince a friend or two.

Archaic, Fort Ancient, Sandstone, Paleo, Woodland and Pioneer are all good parking lot and 300ft from car camping options along Tunnel Ridge road. I would suggest you all use Paleo since its less used and apt to have more room. It looks like a field from the small parking lot but if you follow the path back almost parallel to the road for about 50 yards then bare left for 50 yards or so the tree options are endless back there. You will still need an overnight pass and have to camp 300ft from the cars/parking lot. But you will be less than 3 minutes walk back to cars for coolers, ect. As far as hiking goes, you have several options off of Tunnel Ridge Road. Drive out to the the end and hike out to Auxier Ridge and Courthouse Rock...make a 4mile loop and go to Double Arch as well. The views out there are some of the best in the Gorge! Alas, I miss another group hang... I have a church function that Saturday that lasts most of the day. Make sure you have cameras if you have never been to the Gorge. You all have a nice hang!

That weekend looks good. Looks like I'm in barring any unseen issues that may arise.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.
Just put in for Vacay that weekend... hoping to get into this trip.

Have we nailed down a definite spot yet . Erg is about 280 miles for me but I will be trying to get off that Friday . Might bring my two twin six year old boys . Dads trying to get them into hanging .
tunnel ridge road sounds really good.

Agreed. I'll be honest I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground when it comes to the RRG, but I have talked to KYHiker and he has been camping there since the 70's and his plan sounds solid. Anyone know this area?

I have been there a few times so I have a general knowledge of the area. I'm no expert but I haven't got lost yet
