    Cold feet with 2/3 underquilts?

I'm considering getting a 2/3 underquilt (Yeti3 or JRB Mt.Wash 3) and using ccf pad(s) for my feet. In colder weather I'd be using a JRB N'Snvlr with med. wt. polypro underwear, wool socks, balaclava, gloves. (HH ULBA / Speer 8x10 tarp, to complete the set-up)

What's the collective experience on how low of a temperature can I expect to go to with a 3/8" ccf pad and still have warm feet (I'm a cold sleeper and HATE cold feet)?

Also: any comments on Yeti 3 vs. JRB Mt.Wash 3 ???

    Thanks.

The temps and cold feet is much dependent on each person and how warm you sleep. That being said, with a 3/8" pad under your feet, and with them inside the NoSniv's footbox I would think you'll easily get down into the teens. You might need a thicker top quilt before your feet get cold.

I would take a serious look at the Te-Wa underquilts alongside the others. Mike makes a fantastic quality quilt.

My feet have been warm enough down to around 30F using a Yeti 3 season, the pad, and a 30F rated quilt (Nunatak) with a foot box. My feet are usually the first part that gets cold, if it's going to happen.

Also consider the JRB convertible. That way if the foot pad doesn't work out for you, or you just want additional insulation you have the option of a full length UQ

thanks, RT. I'm looking at the short Mt.Wash now, maybe the extension later, if feet are still cold.

I have suffered cold feet in my hammock (not a result of 2/3 UQ, just happens)
Best solution for me...place a 16"x12" piece of reflectix inside the foot box above my feet. Could feel a difference immediatley...Solved the problem

Thanks for tossing in the Te-Wa UQ for consideration. I sure like mine!
