I'm also a fan of CRL using a dutch hook and a dutch flyz. I attached the tarp using a soft shackle formed into a prussic knot. One one end I use a 3-4" length of shock cord between the tarp and the soft schackle. Give the tarp a bit of give. Probably not necessary but I like having a bit of flex or "give" on every attachment point.
Anytime you use a prussic you have to be sure the material type/thickness works well with the material (type/thickness) that it's wrapped around. Also helps to always have at least 3 wraps on your prussic. Once you find the right combination, they won't move. I like the prussic to be made out of slightly thinner dyameter material than the line it's wrapped around.
I'm stuck on CRL's; tried tie off's on each end a number of times to try and save a bit of weight but the minor amount of weight savings wasn't worth it. I find the CRL's with a dutch hook, Flyz, and two soft shackles to be about the best set up you can have. On the tie out's I LOVE Dutch's tarp worms matched with 1.25 ml Z string from Zpacks.
Have some 1.1 ml reflective dyneema on order now to trial.
