How do you attached your bugnet?

Starting to venture into the world of making hammocks with attached, zipper bugnets.
Have made one so far. Went reasonably well. What I thought would be the hard part, the zipper, was actually pretty easy. Had to hand stitch a bit at the ends of the hammock, but it will serve its intended purpose; keep bugs out. My goal is not to add unnecessary weight to the hammock. Bug net will be zippered on only one side. The hammock is not asymmetrical; I prefer a more traditional hammock.

So, how do you attach the bugnet to your hammock? Do you sandwich the hammock hem and bugnet material between grograin and stitch. Do you simply roll the netting and sew to the hammock? Do you sew grograin to the perimeter of the netting and then stitch to the hammock body?
Any little secrets, problems, tips you would want to share?

    Thanks for any advice offered.

I use a DIY Fronkey style bugnet. I just pull the suspension thru the ends and let it hang on the SRL. And when cold, reverse it and done. Store it in Black Bishop Bag when not in use.

I haven't made an attached bugnet, but I have been thinking of a half bugnet like the Dutch Halfwit. I will watch this thread for best practices tips.

Being extremely weight conscious, I roll the netting & nylon together an sew it as one hem, on the non-zippered side. Haven't seen a need for grosgrain.

I used lost bikers method. I made my second one last year. Here is the thread. If you scroll down, you can see a couple photos of how I stretched the hammock out and then draped the bugnet over it and pinned. I like to use grosgrain to sandwich the net to the hammock and zipper. Maybe not necessary but I think it adds a bit of strength and looks nice. Hope this helps.

Hug. It attaches at the head end by going over the suspension attachment, has a grappler prusik on the ridge-line to suspend it over my head, and a shock cord under the hammock body.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the input!
May use a combination of things, and I will let you know how it works out. Just finished up the hammock body for what I hope incorporates the lessons learned from the previous one.
I did up one of my old hammocks like Dutch's half-wit. I used scrap mesh. It actually works pretty well and does not look bad. I had been wanting to do some mods to the hammock anyway and this was a great excuse to ditch my Tulle bug net (which worked very well, but is rather fragile, which is why it did no sewing on it, just cutting and knots).

Please continue to add your ideas, both for me and for anyone else that needs ideas for a netted hammock project.

I plan on using a combination of methods outlined in the Dave Xtrekker video and Ian Young's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIRsGnAs-ug
