Starting to venture into the world of making hammocks with attached, zipper bugnets.
Have made one so far. Went reasonably well. What I thought would be the hard part, the zipper, was actually pretty easy. Had to hand stitch a bit at the ends of the hammock, but it will serve its intended purpose; keep bugs out. My goal is not to add unnecessary weight to the hammock. Bug net will be zippered on only one side. The hammock is not asymmetrical; I prefer a more traditional hammock.
So, how do you attach the bugnet to your hammock? Do you sandwich the hammock hem and bugnet material between grograin and stitch. Do you simply roll the netting and sew to the hammock? Do you sew grograin to the perimeter of the netting and then stitch to the hammock body?
Any little secrets, problems, tips you would want to share?
Thanks for any advice offered.
